School has been run by a native, Mr J W Sweeting from Harbour Island, a former pupil-teacher of his since Cole left it in Aug 1882. Mr Sweeting to remain master of the school, the new Englishman to be appointed Superintendent and Training Master. Pupil numbers in the Bahamas have grown from 2596 in 1881 to 6221 in 1891. |
