Grew up in a village, Healing, a few miles from Grimsby, Lincolnshire.
She had attended school in Stallingborough, and would usually walk the two-and-a-half miles distance. 
At 11 years old, she attended Welholme Board School at Grimsby.
She left school reluctantly, unable to pursue a teaching career due to her father’s opinion. 

This is a handwritten autobiography totalling 22 pages.
