Born in a cottage.
Moved to a farm in 1890.
Left school at the age of 13.
Had a brother, named Sam, who died in January 1884.
Had a sister who died in January 1892, aged 14.
Her family owned two horses.
Childhood memories of saving up money to go to the Statutes Fair with the other children.
As a child, she would go and provide homemade dinner and drinks for the haymakers in the field.
She would also watch pig killings which took place in November.

After leaving school at the age of 13, she would sell milk around her village with her father.
At the age of 15, she began her apprenticeship to a dressmaker.
At the age of 17, she went to work in town for ladies' tailor-made coats and costumes.

As a child, she loved dressing up in her mother's or grandma's clothing.
She loved spending her time in the kitchen.
She would spend a lot of time with her three cousins, Alice, Mary, and Clara.

The autobiography focuses on growing up on a farm, whilst often visiting a cottage, surrounded by many family members, such as her grandparents, cousins, and her late siblings.

The autobiography is handwritten.
