| Description | The ceremony for the installation of Lord Halsbury as Chancellor took place on 24 November 1966 at Hammersmith Town Hall. The Mayors and Town Clerks of Hillingdon, Ealing, Hammersmith, Brent and Hownslow were present, along with the Members of Parliament for the neighbouring constituencies, Vice Chancellors of many of the universities, representatives from industrial firms and a large assembly of staff, students and local residents. The degree of Doctor of Technology was conferred on Lord Halsbury and Lord Brown, Pro Chancellor of the University; Lord Kings Norton, Chairman of the National Council for Technological Awards; Sir Anthony Part, Under- Secretary (later Deputy-Secretary) at the Ministry of Education and Mrs Muriel Forbes, a Governor of Brunel College.
