He grew up in a religious household with two other siblings, presumably in London.
He later had three more sisters when he was 10 years old.
Attended private school growing up, where he was punished for using his left hand to write at school, and consequently developed a stutter and stammer.
He had lost a few job opportunities because of his temperament.

Married, with four sons.

From 14 till 74 years old, he was employed, only being out of a job for one week.
At 14 he had obtained a job in Fleet Street, which suffered from financial issues.
His second job was in Old Broad Street, through the Telegraph, but with an incident happening, he soon had to take up another job in Billiter Street with tea merchants.
At 16 he secured another job in New Bond Street doing office work, where he stayed for 17 years and became a cashier.
During the war, for three years, he was an auxiliary postman, as he was deemed unfit for military services.

One of the earliest events detailed was the scare of Jack the Ripper, and how it impacted the family shop as well as general speculation.
Whilst at school in Lambeth, he became acquainted with Audrey Chaplain and subsequently met a younger Charlie Chaplain.
He also wrote a chapter detailing a variety of famous people he met, including Winston Churchill, a young George V, and Lord Salisbury.
He was alive during both of the World Wars.

During his younger days he enjoyed causing mishap and trouble.
His main hobbies had been singing and the piano, of which he abandoned at the start of the Second World War.
He was an avid churchgoer, and active participant of the church choir for 46 years.
He was a member of the Freemason society.

This autobiography is typed, with frequent handwritten annotations, totalling 122 pages.
