Married in 1919 and had two daughters.
She had a job of keeping the lavatory supplied with toilet paper. She used to run errands for neighbours. She would sell vegetables that her father grew in the garden. Started working at the Cotton Mill at the age of 12 as a weaver. Worked at Monk’s Mill and Spencer’s Mill. Worked in munitions. Taught at a Sunday School.
Enjoyed physical exercises. Loved to attend the May Festival where she was able to dance around and watch a parade. She loved music. Sang solos in a Church. Joined Mother’s Union.
The autobiography talks about the struggles of poverty.
