| Description | DOB: 26th December 1816. DOD: 1889
As a little boy at the age of 2/3, he lived at a place called Fold Head, Mirfield, Yorkshire. His father was a waterman, and was often weeks or months away from home. His mother accompanied his father when she could. Severely fell sick, which felt like a long time. After recovering, he had lost the enjoyment of playing with playmates and taking walks in the green pastures. Sold their residence at Mirfield, and went to live at Thornhill near Dewsbury. Resided at the hospital for some time after the storm. His mother remained very sick after and couldn't care for the children well. Him and his brother sent to a school called "old dame blackburn's" of Littlemore, nr. Snakehill, Mirfield, and afterwards to a higher class of school kept by a Miss Lawton. Went to live with their grandmother, who was methodist Christian. Lived in a row of cottages called "Kalling Alley".
Married and his eldest son was named George.
Worked on rivers and canals in north of England. Involvement with Chartists.
Through summer, he would sit outside on the green pastures and tend to his fishing equipment. During the summer he would go down to the river of York or Ripon with his family.
