Transcript:
1. Outside measurement of the whole ground, including yards
and that on which the master’s house stands 90 by 50

2. The ground is

3. The outside dimensions of the school room 58 by 30

4. Foundation 2 ½ to 3 feet deep – Concrete- turns [?] and stock bricks

5. Walls average height 14 feet from floor to top of plate [?] inside

6. Floor materials – A layer of concrete over the whole area 3 in thick, dwarf walls, 9 in,

about 6 ft apart, oak sleepers on dwarf walls, oak joists and 1 ½ in yellow deal strait

joint floor. Well ventilated with air gratings. Floor at end 5 ft wide the whole width

of room, raised 18 in at platform. The other part on an inclined plan 9 in in 30 feet.

7. Materials of Walls. Stock bricks with footings 3 bricks thick diminishing to 2 bricks,
from thence to plate of roof 1 ½ brick, with panels 1 brick thick, & cornice under eaves of roof.
8. Roof. Span using 10 feet in centre. Best merrel [?] fir plates and rafters, 5/8 close

boarding, covered with slates, and lead ridge. Cupola for bell. 2 Ventilators in roof.

9. Windows – 8 – 5 ½ by 4 ½ - One at end 6 1/ by 5 ½ - top sashes open on centres – One circular
head–sash over entrance door.

10. Timbers – Fir bond 4 by 3. Chain bond all round building 6 in square
Plates 6 in by 4. Tye beams 10 by 5. King posts 10 by 4.
Struts 5 by 3. Principal raft. 5 by 3. Common rafters 4 by 2
Purloins 5 by 3 Lintels 6 by 4 Oak Joists 4 by 2 ½ Sleepers 4 by 3.


11. Doors. Two. Once next the road. One goes into play ground and yard.

12. Seats for 192 boys.
