DescriptionLetter to Millar, BFSS, from Moore, Malacca. Was originally in Madras attempting to form an English Free school on the Lancasterian lan. Now in Malacca and has set up such a school. (Malacca Free School). Salary of 60 Spanish dollars a month, school house. School room big enough for 170 boys. Constructed on the plan in the Manual. one month since opening, has 27 names on the register of Portuguese and Dutch descent. In order to follow the model of the Central School he requires slates, pencils, books, a set of lessons, badges. The BFSS has presented him with a set when he left London, but he left most of it with Mr Crisp at Madras. Mentions Thomas Beighton at Penang.
